Dr. Morarji Peesay delivered a lecture on “How to be an innovative medical practitioner”. He introduced his novel biomedical device for neonates, the inspiration for which he got during his medical practice in the neonatal ward. His devices are built on a very simple platform and are affordable by a common man. He laid stress on interdisciplinary collaborations for a fruitful end product and educated the students on how bridging the gap between basic science and clinicians would be of great help to mankind and how one can invent incredible things with lateral thinking. He encouraged us with Leonardo Vinci quote “Connecting the Unconnected”.

Mr. S. Pavan Kumar Raju delivered a lecture on the “Progress made by Pharma companies in the last decade.” This lecture was very useful for our students and staff from the Pharmacy college and medical students from the department of pharmacology. The talk inspired us to explore the field of drug development.

Dr. Saravanan Matheshwaran an eminent microbiologist from IIT Kanpur explained us about the therapeutic strategies for TB by targeting the SOS repair system of Mycobacteria using the model system Mycobacterium smegmatis.
